PAW / 2002 / Quarter 3 Index

Greetings! If you came here first, note that the current PAW is here.

Welcome to my PAW. This page is the index for the third quarter of 2002, July through September. (There is a separate index for each quarter to keep the download time reasonable.) This index contains thumbnails and journal entries for each photo.

My 2002 PAW has been on hiatus since the end of June (Week 27) while I was preparing for my wedding. There's only three pictures in this quarter at the moment. Most recently, I added weeks 30 and 31 (in April, 2003). I hope to fill in more of the gaps someday...

Click the thumbnail to see the full-size version, or skip all this verbiage and just view the larger version virtually text-free (the pictures do have titles): Click the latest thumbnail (first picture below) and work backwards (by clicking on "Prev"), or start at the beginning of the year. Clicking "index" will take you to the journal entry for that picture. Thanks for visiting!

Week 30: Clouds

Clouds (thumbnail)

I had just gotten some filters for my new Leica and wanted to try them out. I was hoping the filters would allow me to achieve more natural-looking skies and white clouds. This was probably taken with a red filter, but I'm not sure.

Week 31: Kayak Wrangling

Kayak Wrangling (thumbnail)

This is a holiday snapshot I took while on a brief vacation in Maine. This rocky beach is near the town pier of Bar Barbor on Frenchman's Bay where one can rent kayaks. I think this is the only time I've used a grade 1/2 filter, because of the high contrast of the scene. I did a slight burn on the bottom left and the very top to even things out a little. It figures that I would shoot this extremely colorful subject in black-and-white, but I like it nevertheless.
